Branson’s dining scene has so much to offer, from breakfast spots serving hearty plates to BBQ that’ll leave you licking your fingers. Here’s a rundown of some of the top dining options around town that my family and I love (and you might, too!). I’ve added some personal favorites and a few thoughts on the must-try dishes.

Breakfast Spots

A classic spot with the best biscuits and gravy around. Start your morning right with their hearty portions and a cozy atmosphere that feels like home.
- Hungry Hunter Restaurant – TripAdvisor’s 2024 Traveler’s Choice Award
Known for generous portions and friendly service, the Hungry Hunter is a go-to for a breakfast feast. Their “Big Hunter” breakfast platter is a favorite, especially if you’re in the mood to start the day off with a bang.
- Billy Gail’s – Featured on Food Network’s Man vs Food
Billy Gail’s is famous for its giant pancakes that spill off the plate, so bring your appetite! The cinnamon roll pancakes are a fan favorite.

- Downing Street Pour House
This British style pub in downtown Hollister has a really fun atmosphere and an amazing waygu beef burger. - The Branson Cafe – TripAdvisor’s 2024 Traveler’s Choice Award
This spot has been around forever, and the food speaks for itself. Their burgers are classic, juicy, and topped just right.
- Pickin Porch Grill – TripAdvisor’s 2024 Traveler’s Choice Award
The cheeseburger is a must-try, and it’s always served with a side of live music. It’s a laid-back spot with a welcoming vibe that makes you want to stay awhile.

This spot does burgers right, with fresh ingredients and unique topping options that keep things interesting. Their fried green tomato burger is a winner!
Fun Atmosphere
- The Social Birdy
More than just a restaurant, it has multiple golf simulators, pickleball courts, and a putting course. Great food, great drinks, and an awesome staff makes this a great option to kick back with friends.
- Mel’s Hard Luck Diner
A 50’s style diner where the servers serenade you while you eat! It’s always a fun experience, and afterward, you can wander through the Grand Village Shoppes. Don’t miss Kringles Christmas Store next door!
- Cakes-n-Creams
Another 50’s style gem with classic diner food and even a drive-in movie screen. They make fantastic burgers, and their funnel cakes are a must for dessert.
- Mountain Top Grill
Located at Mountain Top Golf Course, it’s a beautiful setting with incredible views. If you’re lucky, you might spot a buffalo on your way in. Great place for a relaxed lunch. - Sugarleaf Bakery
Step into a Nancy Meyers movie and enjoy a piece of their homemade carrot cake and a hot cup of coffee, then go explore the Grand Village Shops, you will not be sorry.
Sweet Treats
- Parlour Donuts
A perfect cross between a donut and a croissant. Light, flaky, and delicious—especially the cinnamon sugar.
- Magnolia Ice
Their fine shaved ice is refreshing on a hot day, and you have to try the fried portobello mushrooms here. It’s an unexpected combo but surprisingly good!
BBQ
- Gettin’ Basted
Known for their award-winning BBQ and creative menu. Try the brisket—it’s tender, smoky, and packed with flavor.
- Danas
A local favorite with great BBQ and sides that are just as good. Their loaded BBQ nachos are a hit!
- Oscar’s Famous Ribs
If you’re in the mood for ribs, Oscar’s is the place to go. The sauce is unforgettable, and the meat falls right off the bone.
Pizza
- Pizza by the Slice
- Convenient, quick, and delicious. Perfect for grabbing a slice while exploring Branson Landing.
- Pizza by the Chef
- A local favorite known for its fresh toppings and made-to-order pizzas. Their classic margherita is a standout.
- Pappo’s Pizza
- Craft pizza with a variety of unique toppings. Try their “Mediterranean” with artichokes, olives, and feta—it’s a crowd-pleaser.
- Mellow Mushroom
- Known for its eclectic atmosphere and creative pizzas. The “Funky Q” chicken pizza is always a hit with our family.
Quick Bites
- Earl of Sandwich
Tucked inside a gas station near Lake Taneycomo, this spot is a hidden gem. Their signature sandwich sauce is one-of-a-kind!
Steaks
- Saltgrass Steakhouse at the Branson Landing
Great steaks with a fantastic view of the lake. Try their ribeye—it’s always cooked to perfection.
Mexican
- El Lago
Their Taco Tuesday is unbeatable! Great place for authentic Mexican food at reasonable prices.
Fine Dining
- Level 2 Steakhouse
Located in the Hilton, this is upscale dining at its best. Their 28-day aged steaks are a must-try, and they’re known for a top-notch wine selection.
- Top of the Rock
Not just a meal, it’s an experience. The views are breathtaking, especially at sunset. Perfect for a special occasion dinner.
- Chateau Grille
The restaurant at Chateau on the Lake offers fine dining with an incredible view. Their seafood options are always fresh and delicious.
